Jed Malcolm began Salamander Construction in the fall of 2003. After graduating from Bucknell University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Jed brought his expertise to The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company In Baltimore Maryland where he managed commerical projects for the likes of Peter Angelos, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, The Kennedy Krieger Institue, Starbucks and Citigroup. In 2004, Jed returned home to Vermont to start a business and a Family. Jed and the rest of the Salamander crew utilize a traditional craftsmanship approach with modern tools, techniques and understanding for the new demands of the energy conscious world. Specializing in new homes and renovations of all sizes as well as additions, outbuildings, decks and porches, Salamander is proud of its ability to find the balance between Function, Aesthetics, Budget and Schedule. Salamander Construction appreciates the fact that building a Home is a very personal adventure and we respect the personal nature with which every decision in the process is made. It is our responsibility to ensure that these decisions are made with the necessary knowledge and information to make sure the right decisions be made to exceed all client’s expectations in creating or transforming their home.

The Current Salamander Crew has a combined 75+ years of experience in the Construction world with skills from Framing and Finish Carpentry to Slate, Plumbing, Heat Pump Installation, Tile and Stone. The Crew of Mike Goodale, Jesse Otis, Jeremy Schrock, Casey Huizenga, Colby Trudeau, and Bucky Doria provide a collection of fantastic personalities with superb building knowledge. Salamander is incredibly lucky to have the team that it does.
